Third Annual Contract Competition
The contestants first drafted a shareholder agreement for a minority shareholder according to its instructions and using a term sheet and the fictitious company’s articles of association. The students then tested the agreement in the “real world” during simulated negotiations with the investor’s counsel (KŠB attorneys), who attempted to capitalize on the agreement’s weak spots.
Four two-member teams took part in this year’s contest. The verbal round and award ceremony took place on 10 December 2014. The team of Lukáš Gerle and Martin Koloušek won the contest, Jiří Hamouz and Lukáš Mach were the runners up and Pavel Martiník and Andrea Molitorisová came in third. Kocián Šolc Balaštík (KŠB) has obtained a significant victory before the Czech Supreme Court in a dispute over the fairness of the consideration paid to minority shareholders in Léčebné lázně Mariánské Lázně a.s. In its judgment in case no. 27 Cdo 1678/2025, the Court dismissed the claimants’ appeal and upheld the lower courts’ decisions. KŠB Runs for a Good Cause
On Tuesday, 8 September three teams from KŠB took part in the eighth annual Good Will Run organised by the Olga Havel Foundation in Prague’s Hvězda Park. Proceeds from the entry fees will go towards supporting families facing difficult circumstances due to serious illness, loss of housing or domestic violence.
