Contract Competition for Law Students a Success

Eleven teams competed in the purchase/sale of a development project on Pařížská street, often considered Prague’s 5th Avenue. The competitors were asked to put forward their clients’ interests – which were undisclosed to the other “party” – while adhering to generally binding rules. In addition to assessing their legal knowledge, the oral part of the contest tested the students’ ability to prepare an argument and adjust it on the spot according to how the negotiations developed.
The students’ performance was judged by KŠB partner Jiří Horník, KŠB attorney Ján Béreš and KŠB junior lawyer Alica Obertová. In addition to prize money and language school vouchers, the winning team won free admission to a KŠB Institute workshop. All the contestants enjoyed the opportunity to experience “real life” legal practice and appreciated hearing the judges’ comments at the end of the contest.
Thanks to the contest’s success, students will most likely have the opportunity to take part in another Contract Competition next year.
