Services Directive

Directive 2006/123/EC on services in the internal market, also named the"Services Directive", implements the basic right of the free movement ofservices contained in the Treaty of the European Community. The Directive mustbe implemented by the end of 2008 but many of its key provisions are alreadyrelevant now, including a prohibition to introduce contrary national measures asof the end of 2006 and the obligation to review existing national provisions inlight of the Directive.
