New public consultation for simplification of Directive 76/768/EEC on cosmetics

The Commission announced in its new public consultation a simplification ofCouncil Directive 76/768/EEC of 27 July 1976 on the approximation of the laws ofthe Member States relating to cosmetic products. The Commission intends tosimplify the Cosmetics Directive in the form of a recast, i.e. a legislativetechnique that enables codification of a legislative text and its amendments andintroduction of substantive improvements.
